Wedding : Elisha Ward

As I don't usually wear make-up I thought long and hard about whether or not to have someone do my make-up for my big day. I was so pleased that I ultimately went for it and couldn't have chosen anyone better than Laura! She was happy to take the time I needed to get the look just right, even giving me a second consultation. She didn't push me to wear too much make-up... I've heard horror stories from friends about make-up artists who insist on doing it completely their way!

On the day itself Laura was just brilliant, wonderfully calm when I started to get jittery and even encouraged me to have some breakfast when I was feeling too nervous to eat. If you're wondering whether or not to get in touch with Laura, just do it, you won't regret it!"

Wedding: Serena Manda

Laura did a fantastic job with my make-up and nails for my special day. My make-up looked extremely natural and lasted all day, throughout the tears and the sweltering sunshine! I had a french manicure which was also very professional. As well as being my beautician Laura was also my bridesmaid, so spent the morning of the wedding getting myself, the bridesmaids ready and doing herself up at the same time. We had the most beautiful day and it made it even more special having one of my best friends professionally doing my make-up.

My wedding was in June 2004. I wanted my make-up to look natural, but to last all day and just give that special look. I was so pleased with what Laura did, it lasted all day and night. There were quite a few tears on the day as you can see by my red eyes, but my make-up did not smudge. I have used Laura many more times since then, for when I was a bridesmaid and also when I had some special photo’s done of me and my children. I have tried to do my make-up myself, but on special occasions I just let Laura do it as it always makes me feel good.

Getting married is one of the most important days of your life, which is why it goes without saying you want everything to be perfect. You also want to look your best and for your happiness to shine through in your photos. I was absolutely delighted with my make up! Laura’s professionalism put me at ease from the moment she arrived. She was able to capture the look I desired to perfection whilst at the same time making subtle colour suggestions which really worked with the theme of the day. Laura also provided good advice on when to get my other treatments done, for instance the best time to have my waxing, pedicure and manicure done. This advice was invaluable and added to the overall professionalism of the package on offer. I was so pleased with the outcome and wouldn’t hesitate to use Laura again for other special occasions. I have known Laura for over 10 years now, as she used to work wih my sister. We have been out socially a number of times, where she has done my make-up. It felt really special for Laura to be there on the morning of the wedding and for her do myself, my two sisters and my mum. I wanted a little more han natural, but a flawless look, which Laura achieved. It was an important part of my day to look good, as it made me feel great. Looking back at the photos all four of us looked brilliant and the make-up lasted allday and evening. Thanks Laura!

I used to work with Laura in the same salon and have seen a lot of her wedding make-up, so I knew if she was available I wanted her to do mine! We had a practice on my hen night, I know I wanted a fairy tale look with a bit of shimmer. It looked lovely but not over the top. I liked the way Laura always tries to incorporate the colours of the flowers and the bridesmaid dresses into the make-up. After the initial consultation she turned the bridal make-up into a sparkly, funky, pink look for the hen night, I felt amazing! On the day Laura came to my parents house in the morning, she did my bridesmaids, mother and my flower girl, they were all so pleased with it. I felt like a princess, as did my flowergirl who had never had her make-up done before.

I got married in October 2005 while Laura was working in Peaches in Carterton. I choose the salon because Laura worked there and I knew I would receive a friendly yet professional service. As you can imagine I was rather nervous as most brides to be are on their wedding day, but Laura did a brilliant job of calming my nerves. Upon my arrival Laura had decorated the nail station with balloons and a chilled bottle of champagne! I spent the morning with Laura having my nails and make up done most of which was in fits of laughter. Before I knew it, it was time to leave the salon and I was looking and feeling great!
